Russell G K Barnes
DIRECTOR
Russell G K Barnes is a Chartered RIBA Architect as well as the Practice Principle and Managing Director at Beresford and Barnes. Russell is responsible for managing the design development, construction and renovation of large residential dwellings as well as the renovation, construction and interior design of commercial projects within the UK.
Russell graduated in 2004 from the University of Greenwich with a BA (Hons) in Architecture. He then progressed to achieve a range of further qualifications within Architecture and Interior Design from the Regents Academy of Fine Art and London Metropolitan University. These achievements have culminated in Russell being listed on the Architects Registration Board as well as a member of the RIBA.
Prior to setting up Beresford and Barnes, Russell worked in association with many leading architectural firms in London and the surrounding counties. His career to date has included working on a variety of projects ranging from commercial offices, restaurants, education buildings, sports venues and heritage, conservation and listed buildings as well as high end residential housing projects.
During his career Russell has also worked from the contractor side as both a lead designer and a contracts manager for a series of specialist glazing companies across the UK. He has been involved in many prestigious projects and installations within this sector including; Farringdon and Cardiff Station, Buckingham Palace as well as the extensive redevelopment of St Martins Courtyard to name a few.
Alan Gloyne
DIRECTOR
Alan Gloyne is a Chartered Architect who has been in the construction industry for over nine years. He studied at the University of Edinburgh at Part I level achieving an MA (Hons) in Architectural Design and followed this up with an MArch at Part II level. Alan concluded his professional studies at University College London with the completion of his Part III Postgraduate Diploma. He has subsequently become a registered Architect and is a member of both the RIBA and RIAS.
Alan has worked across a variety of sectors with projects spanning from small infill development sites right through to master plans for large scale housing schemes. His experience of the construction process is broad and wide-ranging having taken projects from initial concepts up to completion via a variety of procurement and delivery routes.
Alan has worked alongside a number of construction professionals and has collaborated on numerous projects in order to achieve flexible working solutions for clients, stakeholders and consultants. Alan strives to deliver responsive and sustainable architecture and design solutions whilst always understanding the commercial pressures and requirements of the client.
